Who are the Members of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland?

• The State Senators and Delegates who represent the Southern Maryland Region in the Maryland    General Assembly

• Five county commissioners from each county

• One representative of the Region's incorporated municipalities

• One citizen of each county (At-Large Members)

• Representatives from each of the county’s planning commissions

• Representatives from each of the county’s economic development commissions

• Representatives of the Maryland State government. 

When does the full Council meet? 
The Council meets at least quarterly, and more if necessary.  The officers are elected at the annual meeting held in December or January.
 

Who are the officers of the Council? 
Chairman, First, Second, and Third Vice Chairman, and Secretary-Treasurer (the Council's Executive Director)
 

Who can vote? 
Voting membership is restricted to the three State Senators, seven Delegates, 15 County Commissioners, one municipal representative, and three citizen representatives. 
The voting members govern the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, set its policies, approve its annual budget, and determine the Region's priorities. 

What does the Executive Board do?
At its regular monthly meetings, the Executive Board discusses and debates regional issues that will be presented at the Council's quarterly meetings. The Executive Board may hold special meetings to deal with issues that may require more time than regular meetings would allow.  Minutes are produced after each Board meeting.

 Who leads the Executive Board?
The Executive Board is led by its chairman and three vice chairmen, who are elected to one-year term each year.
